The section Analysis deals with the developments in the video industry and the film business. As always, the focus is on German-language commissioned productions. Here we are interested in the very big lines. We analyse what changes and what remains.
In the foreground of each analysis is the question of what changes will occur for directors, video productions and providers of other services for communication with video.
analyses and trends
Because every analysis is an insight back, but also a small outlook, trends and forecasts can be found here. This is because it is important to look ahead and to recognise developments in content and technology at an early stage, as is the case everywhere in communication with moving image standard.
These days we are particularly interested in the developments in the field of virtual reality, immersion and 360° video. Celebrated as a groundbreaking trend, it is currently unclear where the journey with VR hype is heading.
It also remains to be seen whether the current development will further sharpen the current trend in contract productions for videos. While until a few years ago there was a wide selection of available suppliers, today the trend is towards splitting the industry into two groups: Large video companies can survive, or very small suppliers. The stabilizing midfield is currently indulging in rapid growth. This is due to cost pressure, but also to the availability of increasingly cheap production equipment for small amounts of money.
Analysis of the very big lines
By analysis we mean considerations that are of a general nature and have a superordinate character for all players in the industry. Where personal views and insights are concerned and not analyses, there is room in our Insider division. In the same way, the Practical Test section offers space for small technological product analyses.
