Film Production

Under film production the production process of a film or video is described.

More about production of films / videos

Film production

In a broader sense, production encompasses the entire value-added chain up to the finished work and thus also the creation. Distribution is usually referred to as distribution and is not covered by this term.

In a narrower sense, the term only covers the shooting of the film. In this case, production is preceded by pre-production (also called preproduction or shooting preparation).

Following the shooting, the film is completed with image editing and sound processing. In this last phase of the production of moving images, we also speak of post-production (post-production).

Video production companies are also often colloquially referred to as film production.
